Quiet room, cleanlines
Breakfast (had to wait for a long time & did not match the price...we would have got better breakfast cheaper from cafeterias close by). No curtain on the window-->had to wake up with the sun

The room at Hotel Westa was absolutely fantastic! The private bathroom with a shower was a game-changer for me as a disabled guest. It had everything I needed, from complimentary toiletries to a hairdryer. I truly felt comfortable and taken care of.
Personally, I found the shower a bit small, but that's just my opinion. Others might still enjoy it.

Location is near from Old Center - price is nice.
Hotel has no car parking, we used paid one near the Academy. There is a litle loud music in bar/restaurant at evening and morning. No TV in the room - it's for additional money.

The location was best. It was also great that even if the login was at 02.00 p.m, we were lucky to have our room already at 11.00 a.m.

I absolutely loved the decoration at Hotel Westa. The lobby and common areas were beautifully adorned with elegant furniture and charming artwork. It created a warm and welcoming atmosphere that made me feel right at home. As a senior woman, I also appreciated the hotel's accessibility. There were no stairs to climb and everything was conveniently located on the ground floor, making it easy for me to navigate and enjoy my stay.
The only thing I would ask for a better vacation for senior people is if the children working there could provide more assistance with carrying luggage. It would have been nice to have a helping hand, especially when checking in and out.

The rooms are BIG including the bathrooms! But the enterior is oldish (which on the other hand fits with the old bulding imago), only an old TV (although I have to give credits for the english channels (2 of them)) and no curtains which was a clear minus.
A male receptionist was quite rude, kept staring at my girlfriend and wasn't very polite with anyone. He was watching boxing in the screen of the computer and was too busy to say "hi" or anything while we entered the hotel. He could do better.

Location was close to the old town
No wifi in the room. Karaoke bar downstairs - you could hear the bad singing and loud music in the hostel room on the top floor until 2 am. Problems with water pressure - at times it was weak and at times there was no water(!). Hotel staff was not helpful on that issue but otherwise they were great. They only accept cash (no credit card, fortunately ATMs are everywhere). Situated on the market - scary place in the evening/night and very noisy in the morning. No A/C but it was over 30*C outside and much hotter in the room (this is unusual for Riga of course). Could not leave roof window open because one time we did and it rained into my bed:s. Pood breakfast (for us it was included), you can only choose one drink (juice, coffee OR tea) and they prepare the food, you cannot choose what they serve.. did not like porridge and sausages. Would not stay there again, there are better hostels near by.

I had a great time enjoying meals and drinks at the bar-restaurant, and the communal kitchen made me feel like a master chef. The House of the Blackheads and the Freedom Monument were just a short walk away.
Oh, and let's not forget the charming view of drunk homeless people between the closed market stalls in the evening. Lovely.

Clean room, simple and much space. Nice- friendly staff. Close to the city centre. Good value for the money. Kids liked.
Ment for backbackers, not reachable by car. Loud music coming from downstairs. Not loud enough to keep awake.

the hostel lies in the centre of Europes biggest market place and next to the City. You arrive the Old Town in 15 minutes by feet. The breakfast was very good. Instead of a buffet you get the dayly special. In our case it was an omelett with salad and toast and after that two big pancakes with marmelde and fruits. Enough until the evening! The crew always helps you if possible and the rooms were quiet if closed the window.
The TV in the room didn't work as it should have. We only had audio but no picture. But you stay there for sleeping not for watching TV. So it wasn't so bad. There was no curtain or anything else in front of the window so that you were awakening from the sun in the dawn.

I recently stayed at Hotel Westa for 2 nights while exploring the city. The location was perfect, right in front of the central market and just a short walk from the bus and train stations. The staff, especially Daniels, were incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel itself may not be luxurious, but it was great value for money. The room was basic but clean, with a nice bathroom and a good hot shower. Despite being a light sleeper, I didn't experience any noise issues from the market. I had a fantastic stay and will definitely book again.
Totally recommend this hotel.
